Seems to me that the thing most hated about credit cards is paying late fees. And it is the truth that most of us have done it at least once in our lives. No doubts that they exhausted your pockets, haven't they? Late credit card fees may cost you up to fifty dollars!
Have you ever thought that one can completely avoid credit card late fees? I would like to give you some pieces of advice that will save you money.
1. Make your minimum payments straightway
I mean, send the min payment instantly right after you receive your bill. Later, you will be able to understand if you would like to pay more. Because of the fact that your credit company will receive at least a min amount of money from you, it will not charge you with late fees.
2. You can move you due date
Most credit companies can allow you set your own due date on your credit card deals. Set your due date on the pay day in case you have got problems with saving money. Set your due date on a pay day in case you have difficulties with saving money. This way you will not have to worry about not paying your credit bills because you will have cash.
I find this way of paying my bills rather comfortable. Why? I get my pay check and pay my bills the same day. Yes, sometimes it feels disappointing because my pay check seems to be so little after all the payments. But I try to take it easy. It is better than being constantly in debts, really.
3. Use the phone payment service.
Payments by phone are ideal for those who usually tend to do all the necessary things in the very last minute. Almost every credit cards company allows paying by phone. It is extremely comfortable, especially if you have forgotten to send your credit card payment. You will be charged for this - usually $5-$20 for the service.
4. You can use express services.
What is that? You bank may not provide the service "pay by phone". You may use such express services as Express Mail or Western Union. Always make sure to send all the payments to the right address. Keep in mind that these services are rather expensive but still they will cost you less than late fees.
My husband often uses express mail to pay his bills. It is unbelievable how absent minded he is - he always forgets to pay his bills. Usually he remembers about that almost on the last day. Once he was in such a rush that just confused the creditor's address and as a result he spent his money for delivery and also paid a substantial amount of money for the late fees. Now he has his credit history spoiled and can apply only for fair credit card offers. Now he tries to be extremely attentive with addresses.
5. You may also just skip the payment.
There is a special Skip-A-Payment service that can help with all those terrible late fees. It allows you to skip your credit payment. Contact your bank and find out if it provides such service. Some credit card companies will let you skip the payment despite the bank may not provide this service. So, just check it.
6. The best tip is just to pay your bills on time.
No doubts that this is the best ever advice on all of the credit card offers. Be accurate; do your best to make all the payments on a regular basis. In order to be eligible to apply for excellent credit cards you need to maintain excellent credit history and that is impossible without on-time payments.
